Baume & Mercier Geneve, automatic chronograph. The watch has a white dial with date at 3 o’clock, second counter at 9 o’clock, 30 minutes at 12 o’clock and hours at 6 o’clock. The watch comes with Arabic numbers in dark grey. The case is in stainless steel with engraved in the back “Baume & Mercier Geneve” number #5223563 – MV 045216 – Stainless Steel Automatic. The watch comes with a blue band and a stainless folding buckle.
In 1834, the Baume family founded the company “Baume Freres”. In 1844, Joseph Celestin Baume went to England to set up business relations whom opened doors to introduce watches signed “Waterloo”, “Diviko” and “Sirdar” to new markets. In 1893, the company won the timing competition at the Kew-Teddington observatory with a score of 91.9 out of 100. In 1912, William Baume met with Paul Mercier and in 1918 formed the establishment of “Baume & Mercier” in Geneva. After the war Constantin de Gorski joins the company and focus on conventional men’s watches, sports-chronographs and ladies jewelry watches. In 1965, Piaget took over the company. From the 1970’s the company invest on quartz movement. In 1993, the Cartier Group became sole owners of Piaget and Baume & Mercier.
