Stainless steel Cartier Must 21 Chronoscaph ref 2424 with individual serial number DD1248. The watch has a round white dial with small Cartier logos inside, three sub counters for hours at 3 o’clock, seconds at 6 o’clock and minutes at 9 o’clock. The date is at 4 o’clock. Inside bezel comes Arabic numerals every 5 minutes and outside bezel with Roman numerals. Hands are in stainless steel and white. Luminous are good. The case is in stainless steel with engraved in the back “Cartier” – Chronoscaph - 2424 Water Resistant 100m/330 ft Stainless Steel #121392PL. The crown comes with a white rubber sapphire. The watch has a stainless steel and white Cartier rubber band with deployant buckle. The watch comes with box and paper.
Cartier was founded by Louis-Francois Cartier in 1847 in Paris when it took over “Adolphe Picard”. His son joined the company in 1874. Cartier was making watches for home, chain and wrist. The success really started when Louis married Andree-Caroline Worth. Making a contract with Edmond Jaeger, Cartier secured a lavish collection of ladies watches. In 1906 comes the first platinum watch distinguished by a cabochon set into the crown. The same year came the “Tonneau”. After meeting with Alberto Santos Dumond, the “Santos” came in 1911. Then more models were created as the “Tortue”, “La Baignoire”. 1917 is the creation of the “Tank”, 1932, the “Pasha”. 1968 is “Les Must de Cartier” After tumultuous financial transactions, the company became part of the Richemont group in 2000.
