Lovely stainless steel 35.5mm Bulova Accutron from 1967. The watch has a tonneau shape with round grey dial and stainless steel Arabic numerals for 6, 9 and 12 o’clock. Other hours are marked with black stainless steel batons. The hands are in stainless steel with baton shape and good luminous. It is a sweep second hand. The window for the hour is at 3 o’clock. The crown is at 4 o’clock with the Bulova logo. The back case is in stainless steel and comes with outside engraved “Bulova – J788493 – N3 – stainless steel case” and inside “X2975XC – Use only genuine accutron marked 218 – Install with yellow seal toward case back 218 toward dial. It closes with a ring. The watch has a quartz movement with caliber 2181. The watch comes with a brown leather strap. Width between lugs is 18mm.

History

The story of Joseph Bulova started in 1875 in the New York area in opening a small jewelry store in the Maiden Lane. Years after years, Bulova offers a full line of watches. In 1926, Bulova introduce a world premier “a practical clock radio”. 1930-1940 is a period of tremendous success for the brand with its rectangular gold-filled wristwatches with highly cambered cases. In the 1950’s, Bulova is the first with electronic watches, the “Accutron”. In 1967, Bulova bought Universal then in 1979 is acquired by Loews Corp. and in 2001bought Wittnauer.
