Beautiful patina dial Gallet chronograph circa 1940’s. Rare large size chrono from this period. It is a round Gallet dial with beige/Yellow/creamy color really lovely. The dial has black Arabic numerals, 2 sub dials, 45 minutes at 3 o’clock and seconds at 9 o’clock. The hands are dark blue with a stick shape. The pushers are round. It is a stainless steel screwed back case engraved inside “Gallet 8C Co – Swiss – Acier inoxydable” with number 924773. It is a manual winding movement with Excelsior Park 4 caliber. The watch comes with a beige leather band. Excellent working condition.
The company started in 1826 by Julien Gallet in La Chaux de Fonds. The goal was to make pocket watch. In 1864, Gallet opened a subsidiary in the US. During the first world war, Gallet promotes its brand to army officers. In the 1930’s, Gallet makes models such as “Duo Dial”. Gallet makes also chronographs with Valjoux 69 or Venus 140 movements. Some watches come with mono pusher or two pushers. Today, Gallet is a leading word in the world of collectible.
