Beautiful Heuer with a good size for the 1930’s. You will notice that the lugs are attached to the case. The dial has a beautiful color, a mix of light blue/purple color. It comes with the Heuer logo and at 6 o’clock 17 jewels antimagnetic. It has two sub-counters at 3 o’clock for the minutes and 9 o’clock for the second. It comes with Arabic numbers. The watch has a telemetre and tachymetre. The hands are thin and blue and fit perfectly in the shape of the watch. Being from the 1930’s, you find the early spirit of the dial that was used again in the 1950’s with the pre-carrera model. The movement is a Landeron Hahn 15 ½ with 17 jewels. The watch comes with a black leather band.
The company was founded by Edouard Heuer in 1860 in opening a watch comptoir (dealership) in Saint Imier. In 1864, he moves to Bienne with a signed “E Heuer & Compagnie”. 1869, he applied for a patent for an “Independent crown-winding system”. In 1880, he is the first watch producer to start on the series production of chronographs. In 1910 Heuer creates the “doctor’s chronograph with pulsometer. In 1916 Heuer register a patent for the “Microsplit”. 1930, Heuer patented the design of waterproof case. 1949 comes the “Solunar” and the magic “Carrera” in 1963. 1964, Heuer merged with Leonidas S.A. Since 1999, the company is owned by the LVMH Group. In 2006, the “Carrera 360” took up the mantle of the “Microsplit”, a stopwatch accurate to 1/100th of a second.
