Shanghai A-581 vintage watch with round grey dial with gold color Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 o’clock. Other hours are marked with “Losange” gold color style batons and dot. At 12 o’clock comes the Shanghai logo and at 6 o’clock “17 jewels” (The simple symbol for jewel means the watch is before 1964). The hands have a gold color with “Dauphine” style with second hand with a pointy red arrow. The crown has the Shanghai logo. It is a screw back case in stainless steel with engraved outside “Shanghai Shoubiao Chang – Shanghai A-581”. The watch has a manual winding movement with caliber AS 1187. On the caliber is engraved 6111A. The watch comes with a black leather strap. The watch comes with the booklet and warranty.

Shanghai Watch Factory developed an iconic watch with reference A-581 from 1958 to 1967, the symbol of China’s highest level of watch and clock industry in late 1950’s. In 1958 quantity produced was 13,000 pieces, 1959 was 74,000 pieces and 600,000 in 1960. After the company added new models like the A611 and A623 but were less prestigious. By 1968, all Shanghai 581 (three series) had been discontinued.
