Roger Dubuis Easy Diver “Just for friends” limited edition numbered 208/280 with blue and black color carbon fiber textured dial/partially skeletonized with tourbillon. Each hour is represented with a baton and every five minutes with Arabic numerals. At 4 o’clock comes “Sport activity watch 300m-990ft” Hands are in stainless steel with large luminous and “Sword” design. At 7 o’clock comes the one-minute tourbillon carriage. The crown comes with the RD logo. The watch has a white gold rotating bezel calibrated to 60 units. The back case is in stainless steel with an exhibition sapphire crystal back display to admire the manual wind movement with caliber R.D.02. Engraved around the crystal is “Roger Dubuis – 208/280 – Just for Friends – 300m/900ft”. On the movement come number 346 – 19 jewels – Cal RD02 – Flying Tourbillon”. The watch comes with a rubber RD band and a stainless steel RD folding deployment buckle. It is a full set with box and papers.
Roger Dubuis was born in 1938 in Geneva. He is one of the most famous Master Watchmaker of the 20th century and he is particularly known for his tourbillons. He learned how to become a watchmaker from 1953 to 1957 at the Geneva Watchmaking Academy. He then worked at Patek Philippe. In 1980, he started his own business in making his living devising complex mechanisms and restoring antique timepieces. In 1995, he partnered with the Carlos Dias and found Manufacture Roger Dubuis SA. The following year, they introduced their first retro-look watches. In 1998, they opened their own factory where they produce their own calibers which includes manual winding and automatic movements, chronographs, tourbillons and other mechanical complications. Mr. Dubuis is no longer with the company as modern business is alien to his philosophy of life, he remains an ardent craftsman.
