Very collectible NOS Wittnauer sport with round inner blue and outer grey dial. Each hour is marked with batons. Each minute is marked with white baton. The window for the date is at 3 o’clock. It is a “T Swiss T” model. The hands are in steel with baton style. The second hand is red. Luminous are perfect. It is a stainless-steel back screwed case. The watch comes with an automatic movement. The bracelet is in stainless steel with double clasp buckle. Inside is engraved “Baldwin – 100% all stainless steel Pat 3,217,374”. It is a full set with box and tags.
Eugene Robert and Albert Wittnauer came to the United States around 1845. In 1868, the company is founded and start to import Swiss watches in the US and then Canada in acting as an agent for brands such as Audemars Piguet, Angelus and Longines, however, it became the exclusive sales agent of Longines in 1880 for 114 years. In addition to the watches of these manufacturers, the dealership also offered wristwatches under its own signature. In 1936, the Wittnauer Co. was sold by the family and renamed the Longines-Wittnauer Co. Since 2001, the brand belongs to the Bulova Corporation.
